The police threatened us with penalties for a playful intervention
Last Saturday, I went again to the University Square, for placing some more colour feathers on the cobblestones, and to see how two of our friends dance for clear waters. Probably, due to the protest anti-Chevron, of April 4, the police was more active in the University Square. Two policemen stopped my action and said that every action needs formal approval from the City Hall. Every cultural, every spontaneous action, needs an approval, they said. They also said that the Square is surveilled through camera. Some guy stood up for me, and threatened them with Facebook :) Thanks! Then, the policemen went to their stupid bussines. Another guy who was present, a graffer, was like: the police is bullshittin’ us, they don’t have any camera for this particular space, and he showed us where the cameras are instead. After a few minutes, two dancers - Virginia and Juan - started to do their thing. After a few more minutes, the two policemen came again and threatened me with penalties starting with 1000 RON (approx EUR 300) for occupying the public space (!). THIS CALLS FOR UNIŢIA!
